RAD Dance Challenge 2019 (Toronto, ON)
The RAD Dance Challenge is a two-day training experience and competition in Canada for students up to age 18 that culminates in an adjudicated showcase of solo performances.
The competition is multi-level and is open to all RAD students, studying with an RAD Registered teaching member. Levels range from Grade 4 - Advanced 2. However, competitors deemed eligible to participate in the Solo Seal are not eligible to participate in the Dance Challenge.
Dancers are judged on the performance of an original ballet solo that either their teacher, a fellow student, or themselves have choreographed.
Day 1 has dancers taking non-syllabus classes, focusing on technique, performance and artistry, as well as one-on-one coaching for their solo performances. With Day 2 comprised of a non-syllabus ballet class, dress rehearsal and performance of solos to an adjudicator and audience, followed by a presentation of participation certificates and cash prize awards.

In addition to the cash prize, each choreographic and 1st place prize winner will receive a pair of tickets to the Final of the Genée International Ballet Competition, taking place in Toronto on August 29, 2019!

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Spots are limited to a maximum of 60 participants total. Entries can only be submitted by the competitor's RAD Teacher, and only completed applications (filled-in form and payment information) will be accepted. Incomplete applications will NOT be accepted; including requests to hold spots with credit card payment.
